Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly been given a "gentle nudge" by their bosses at Spotify after failing to produce content this year.

The couple signed a deal worth an estimated $33 million but have so far created just one episode, released a year ago.

Spotify had previously announced it was expecting a full-scale launch of content from Harry and Meghan throughout 2021.

According to The Sun, the company has given the Sussexes' Archewell Audio brand a "gentle nudge" to get working and protect the future of the multi-million-dollar deal.

"Spotify were delighted when they signed the couple, but the lack of content has mystified them," a source told the publication.

"Particularly as they seem to have no problem producing content for other platforms."

Their only 35-minute episode, released as a Christmas special, meant the couple has so far been paid around $935,000 per minute.

This year alone, Harry and Meghan have sat down for interviews with Oprah and Ellen and have appeared as guests on other podcasts, including Dax Shephard's Armchair Expert in May.

However, after Spotify was approached for comment it said, "Big things are coming. Stay tuned".

Harry and Meghan are expected to release new material in the coming weeks after hiring Rebecca Sananes in August, who is now the head of Archewell Audio.

For their debut episode, released in December last year, Harry and Meghan's son Archie made a guest appearance, revealing his cute American accent.
