The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being urged to take advantage of the current Hollywood writer strike to "regroup and retool their operations."

Entertainment producer and coach Paul Duddridge says the strike gives Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a "much needed opportunity" to revive their careers in the US.

"It will give them a much-needed chance to review their creative strategies while using the industry shutdown as cover," Duddridge told Express.

Harry and Meghan have faced a number of career setbacks this year, including the end of their deal with Spotify and reports their commercial arrangement with Netflix is on shaky ground.

Then there is their fractured relationships with the British royal family following a number of media interviews given by the couple critical of their time working for the monarchy.

These culminated in the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare in January.

"They have seemingly worn out the goodwill of the Royal Family and have not set the world alight with their creative output in the US," Duddridge said.

"They are now well-positioned to salvage their image with a critical success in the creative sphere.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been uncharacteristically quiet since their appearance at the 2023 Women of Vision Awards in New York City in May, after which they alleged they endured a "near catastrophic" paparazzi car chase.

The couple were accused of exaggerating their experience.

Following their resignation as senior working royals in January 2020, Harry and Meghan purchased a lavish home in Montecito in the US, where they reside with their children Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.
