Inside the alleged fallout between Prince Harry and Meghan and the Beckhams

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's friendship with David and Victoria Beckham has reportedly cooled.

A source has claimed Harry and Meghan once suspected the Beckhams of leaking information about them, in particular Victoria, leading to a fallout which remains unresolved.

David Beckham is reportedly "absolutely bloody furious" at the accusation, sparking a series of tense phone calls between the couples to hash it out, an insider has claimed.

The source says the calls failed to resolve anything and "any making up now is so unlikely", Mail on Sunday reports.

Prince Harry has enjoyed a long and lasting friendship with both David and Victoria Beckham, spanning back to Victoria's Spice Girls days when the pop group would visit Buckingham Palace to spend time with the royals.

He also enjoyed a close friendship with David when the former athlete was the top football player in the country and regularly rubbed shoulders with the royals including Prince Harry and Prince William.

Harry's friendship with the pair extended to Meghan when she and Harry began dating in 2016.

The Beckhams attended the royals couple's wedding in 2018 and Meghan was known to favour Victoria Beckham designs for appearances following her nuptials.

However, earlier this year, reports claimed Meghan had accused the former Spice Girl of "indiscretion" – which led to a rift between the pair.

Royal biographer Tom Bower claimed to The Sun that Meghan's accusations resulted in a tense phone call with the Sussexes and Beckhams.

"Harry's instability fed Meghan's fears that friends were leaking stories to the media. In particular, she suspected Victoria Beckham of indiscretion," Bower claimed.

"Harry called David Beckham to repeat the accusation. Outraged, Beckham's truthful denials damaged their relationship."

Since their resignation as senior working royals, Harry and Meghan have given a number of media interviews about their time with the monarchy, including making accusations of racism.

Prince Harry's memoir Spare didn't hold back in sharing details of his fallings out with his family, including with Prince William.

At the same time, Prince Harry has joined legal action against media publications for violating his privacy including a lawsuit against The Sun.

Writing for The Telegraph, Royal reporter Camilla Tominey labelled Prince Harry a "paranoid man" who "has failed to cope with his fame" which could explain his suspicion of those closest to him as being the sources of constant negative media reports about him.

Meghan has earned a reputation for moving on from friendships, with past associates speaking out claiming they have been ghosted by the royal.

This includes childhood friend Ninaki Priddy, stylist Jessica Mulroney, media commentator Lizzie Cundy and outspoken Sussex critic Piers Morgan.

Recent reports the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are experiencing marital difficulties have been denied by sources close to the couple.

Rumours the pair are planning to move from Montecito to Malibu are yet to be confirmed.
