Meghan and Harry mimic Charles and Diana at family wedding

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for a family member's wedding on Saturday, they probably didn't expect eagle-eyed royal fans to pay such close attention.

But... they did.

Observant royal fashion fanatics had their eyes on 36-year-old Meghan's gorgeous floral frock, pointing out its striking resemblance to an outfit worn by the late Princess Diana during a trip to Saudi Arabia in 1986.

Meghan's long-sleeved blue and white wrap dress by Oscar de la Renta bore a strong comparison to Diana's 1986 dress, designed by Catherine Walker. The two frocks featured identical colour schemes, similar patterns, fit and neckline.

Perhaps the outfit, resembling a dress deemed appropriate to wear in 1980's Saudi Arabia, sends another message to the Duchess' fashion critics who have slammed her for not 'covering up' enough?

However, Meghan wasn't the only one taking fashion tips from her royal elders. Prince Harry stepped out in a suit vest of the identical eggshell colour worn by his father during the same royal visit to Saudi Arabia.

Talk about royal couple copycat colour coordination.

This isn't the first time Meghan has been spotted taking fashion tips from the mother-in-law she never got to meet. 

Recently, the Duchess appeared at her first Trooping The Colour event, turning heads in a blush pink, off-shoulder dress by Carolina Herrera which bore strong similarities to a number of outfits worn by Princess Diana.

Meanwhile, the recent Royal Wedding was full of touching tributes to the 'Peoples Princess'. Whether it was through pieces of jewellery, the flowers chosen for the wedding bouquets or the photographs taken Diana's presence was truly felt.
