Meghan Markle to make a return to the red carpet... alongside Beyoncé no less

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to have a double-date night of epic proportions.

Buckingham Palace have confirmed The Duchess of Sussex will now join the Duke of Sussex at the European premiere of The Lion King on Sunday.

Also walking the red carpet will be Beyoncé with husband Jay-Z.

The music royalty paid tribute to the American-born Duchess earlier this year when they won the BRIT Award for Best International Group, as The Carters, filming their acceptance speech in front of a painting of Meghan.

It's understood the two couples haven't met since, so it's likely to be a sweet moment when they do come face-to-face at the charity premiere.

Late last month, Prince Harry was announced to be attending the event which was in support of a new Protect The Pride campaign, to protect and recover the dwindling lion population across Africa.

However, on Thursday following a week of rumours, the Palace confirmed The Duchess will also attend the event, despite still officially being on maternity leave.

Meghan is obviously no stranger to red carpets, having been on many across her years as an actress in Hollywood.

The now Royal was last seen at a premiere alongside her Prince, just a couple of months before Archie was born.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's Totem in January, raising funds for Harry's Sentebale charity.

Meghan has made a few special appearances while on maternity leave.

The first being at Trooping the Colour just one month after giving birth to Archie on May 6 and then again at the Royal Charity Polo match between Princes William and Harry this week.

There was of course Archie's christening last Saturday but of course that one was more family affair than Royal duties.
