'We're nearly there': Meghan drops major hint about the birth of baby Sussex

The Duchess of Sussex has given another indication that her due date is closer than ever.

Speaking at a party in honour of her father-in-law, Prince Charles, Meghan was pictured cradling her blossoming bump while speaking with invited guests.

She was overheard talking about the birth and joking about her changing appearance, during a conversation with Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess was there to celebrate Prince Charles marking 50 years since being formally given the title Prince of Wales. It was the first time Meghan, Harry, Prince William and Kate attended an event together since the Christmas Day church service in Norfolk.

When Secretary Cairns congratulated Meghan on her pregnancy, the mum-to-be said: "I look rather different than the last time you saw me".

Cairns then asked: "How are you doing? I'm sure everyone is asking".

To which Meghan added, gesturing at her bump: "No, it's actually very sweet.

"It's a very sweet, nurturing thing to ask.

"We're nearly there".

The Duchess is believed to be due in late-April, putting her at around eight months pregnant.

While members of the royal family never reveal their official due dates, the arrival of Baby Sussex is imminent.

Meghan and Harry have been busily preparing for their first child and will soon move to Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor, which has been fit out with a nursery.

But mystery surrounds exactly where Meghan will give birth.

It's highly likely Meghan will choose the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London, where her sister-in-law Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, had her three children.

There were also recent suggestions the Duchess would choose the American run Portland Hospital instead.

But they may choose something a little closer to their new home, depending on when they're set to move in.

Frimley Park Hospital, in Surrey, is around 24 kilometres with reports the facility has been gearing up for the new arrival.
