King Frederik X returns to royal duties after a two-week absence
King Frederik of Denmark has returned to public duties following a two-week absence.
Frederik, 55, reportedly took some down time following his return from Poland on February 2. This followed a busy start to the year with the royal proclaimed king following his mother Queen Margrethe's abdication on January 14.
It is understood King Frederik and Queen Mary, 52, spent that time on winter vacation with their children Crown Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 13.

King Frederik and Queen Mary are facing a busy schedule for the remainder of the year, kicking off with a state visit to Sweden from May 6 to 7, followed by Norway from May 14 to 15.
The royal couple will also visit Faroe Islands in mid-June followed by Greenland in late June and early July.
King Frederik and Queen Mary will travel on the royal ship Dannebrog.

Before embarking on their travels, Queen Mary will preside over the award of the Ministry of Education and Research's Elite Research Prizes 2024 on February 26.
King Frederik and Queen Mary were proclaimed king and queen of Denmark following Frederik's mother's abdication.
Queen Margrethe announced her plan to abdicate following 52 years on the Danish throne during her New Year's Eve address in 2023.

She cited recent back surgery and ongoing health challenges as the reasons behind her unexpected decision.
King Frederik wiped away tears ahead of addressing the crowd from the balcony of Christiansborg Palace earlier this year.

He spoke of his hope to become "a unifying king of tomorrow."
"It's a task I've approached all my life. It's a task I've taken on with pride, respect and joy," he said.
"I need all the support I can get. From my beloved wife, from my family, from you and from that which is greater than us. I face the future knowing that I am not alone.
"Bound, committed, for the Kingdom of Denmark."
