The who's who at Trump's state dinner for King Charles: Who got a seat at the most powerful table in the world

The historic state dinner thrown by President Trump in honour of King Charles and Queen Camilla is underway at the White House.

This dinner is a key component of the four-day state visit to the United States, which started yesterday with an inspection of the White House's famed bee hive.

Getting a seat at the table for the night of nights was no mean feat, with a who's who of the entertainment, sporting and business worlds vying for one of the 120 seats and a chance to rub shoulders with British royalty.

King Charles and Queen Camilla

Of course, top of the list was the guests of honour, King Charles III, who is visiting the US for the first time as monarch along with his wife, Queen Camilla.

President Trump was reportedly eager to host a state dinner for the monarch ever since he attended an historic second state visit to the UK back in September 2025, where he was guest of honour at a state banquet held in Windsor Castle.

Tim Cook

The outgoing chief executive of Apple shares a close relationship with President Trump, as shown in the post the US president made on Truth Social when Cook revealed earlier this month he was stepping down from his post.

Cook was among the attendees at the state banquet held in honour of President Trump and the First Lady at Windsor Castle last year, so it made sense that he would also be at the White House today.

Jeff Bezos

Amazon chief Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez Bezos were always likely to be there, given Amazon paid $55 million in a licensing deal to secure the rights of the Melania Trump documentary, Melania.

Bezos reportedly overcame previous misgivings about the possibility of a second Trump presidency, even offering up congratulations on his 2024 election win and donating $1.4 million towards his inauguration.

Rory McIlroy

Northern Irish pro golfer Rory McIlroy is also among the guests.

He was also invited to the state banquet in honour of President Trump and the First Lady at Windsor Castle last year.

McIlroy and Trump have bonded over their love of golf, with the two even playing a round of golf in early 2025. Since then, the President described McIlroy as a "legend" following his 2026 Masters victory.

During his speech, Trump pointed to the left side of the crowd and asked McIlroy to stand up.

"Where is Rory McIlroy, can you stand up please?" Trump said. "I don't know if that helps them talk about how wonderful my speech is but I had to interrupt my speech because I watched that man win a tournament that was a tough, that was a tough one. Congratulations, very proud of you. Now I'll get back to my speech, all right."

Ralph Lauren

Billionaire fashion designer Ralph Lauren was another who was lucky enough to score an invite.

Lauren, 86, who started his eponymous fashion label in 1967 before growing it into a multibillion-dollar lifestyle brand, was the designer of choice when First Lady Melania Trump attended an event at the White House with the royals earlier in the day.

The First Lady is a long-time fan of the US fashion house, having chosen a powder blue Ralph Lauren ensemble for President Donald Trump's 2017 inauguration.

Robert Kraft

US businessman and owner of the New England Patriots NFL team Robert Kraft was also among the guests.

Kraft and Trump are said to go back at least two decades and are reportedly firm friends, having perhaps bonded over real estate development, which helped add to Kraft's status as a multibillionaire.

Trump's children

As expected, Trump's children are among the guests, with Ivanka Trump taking to her Instagram Stories to show off her outfit ahead of the festivities.

Tiffany Trump is also believed to be in attendance. It will be her second time rubbing shoulders with the King and Queen after she was a surprise attendee at the royal banquet in Windsor.

On that occasion, she was even included in the royal procession into St George's Hall, where she was accompanied by Apple's Tim Cook, while her husband Michael Boulos was given the honour of escorting the Princess of Wales into the event.

Eric Trump and his wife Lara are also thought to be in attendance.

Trump administration

Various members of the Trump administration are also in attendance, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Some key Republicans and Trump supporters also scored an invite, including Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson and Senator Lindsey Graham.

Also there was the Trump appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine.

Fox News hosts

Fox News hosts also figured in the guest list, including Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, Bret Baier and Greg Gutfeld.

Inside the historic East Room, no attention to detail was spared for the dinner.
