Princess of Wales is making her return to royal duties 'in her own way and at her own pace' following back-to-back appearances

Over the weekend, Kate Middleton made a return to royal duties for Remembrance Day following the end of her chemotherapy treatment.

The Princess of Wales' return to the public eye for two back-to-back appearances delighted royal fans – and now royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith has told People the royal is "coming back" on her own terms.

"She is doing it in her own way and at her own pace, and carefully," Bedell Smith told the publication.

Praising the royal, she said: "She has managed the expectations of the public very well."

"You can't say she is back… but she is coming back."

The royal biographer added that the "ceremonial events" and fulfilling her duties as a senior royal are "important" to Middleton.

Catherine made two public back-to-back appearances to mark Remembrance Day.

On Saturday she appeared at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall, and on Sunday she attended the service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.

Queen Camilla was missing from the royal appearance as she's recovering from a chest infection following a visit to Australia.

Kate is reportedly planning her annual Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey for December and has only been seen a handful of times the past year, amid her cancer treatment.

Meanwhile Prince William recently shared an update on his wife's health following her cancer treatment while in Cape Town.

"She's doing really well thanks," he told British press.

It comes after Middleton shared a moving video featuring footage of her family on their Norfolk estate as she updated royal fans on her cancer journey.

The princess said it was a "relief" to have finished chemotherapy treatment.

"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family, life as we know it can change in an instant," she candidly said.

"The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you."
