The Duchess of Cambridge showcased her maternal side while visiting a school during her solo two-day visit to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Kate, 40, spent time with kindergarteners at a the Stenurten Forst Kindergarten and joined them for a wood chopping activity before sitting around a campfire.

An adorable moment between the royal and a young boy was captured on film when Kate was heard telling him "I love you too" while enjoying a sweet cuddle.

One of the kindergarteners turned to the Duchess as she sat next to the fire and seemingly told her "I love you", to which she replied, "Awww, I love you too. Thank you."

It comes after Kate admitted she felt "broody" and joked that her husband Prince William worries about her working with babies because she returns home wanting "another one".

She made the confession while speaking to parents at the Copenhagen Children's Museum on the first day of her two-day tour.

"William always worries about me meeting under one-year-olds. I come home saying, 'let's have another one'," Kate said.

During her visit to the kindergarten, Kate partook in activities using the nature and outdoors — including wood chopping and a woodland ramble with the children.

Kensington Palace said day one of the royal's first solo tour was designed to be "all about understanding the very earliest stages of a child's development here in Denmark".
