David Beckham celebrates with King Charles and Hollywood A-listers at special ceremony on eve of 'knighthood'

David Beckham has attended the King's Foundation Awards Ceremony, following reports he is set to be awarded a knighthood on June 14.

Beckham, 50, attended an event on June 12, which also marked the 35th anniversary of the King's Foundation.

Beckham joined Hollywood A-listers at St James's Palace for the event, which included actresses Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet, model and wife of Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, and BBC presenter Alan Titchmarsh.

The awards celebrate the work of those who have contributed to the charity's work across several sectors including education, sustainability, heritage, and environmental education.

King Charles' Birthday Honours will be announced on June 14, the same day as Trooping the Colour, the official celebration of the monarch's birthday each year.

Beckham is tipped to be on the honours list.

At the King's Foundation Awards Ceremony, Charles, 76, took the time to greet each guest during an official lineup.

Lancaster, 54, was greeted ahead of Beckham, followed by Streep, 75, and Winslet, 49.

The monarch once again showcased his wit, sharing laughs with the high-profile guests. Charles also viewed a special cake made for the occasion and decorated with a bright floral pattern.

Beckham became an ambassador for The King's Foundation in 2024, supporting King Charles' education program and efforts to ensure young people have a greater understanding of nature.

The former England football captain was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003.

This new honour will be further recognition of both his football career and his contributions to British society.

Beckham played a key role in securing the London 2012 Olympics and has been an ambassador for Unicef since 2005.

Unicef supports vulnerable children around the world, with the organisation launching 'The David Beckham Unicef Fund' in 2015 to mark a decade's partnership between the two.
