Radio host spots 'gutless' note on man's hand reminding him to execute cruel act

Breaking up is hard to do, but there are still those who manage to pull it off in a respectful way.

Then there is this bloke who has been 'outed' by Australian radio Emma Chow host who spotted him sitting on public transport in the seat in front of her.

She explains on Mike & Emma she was seated behind the man when he scratched his neck, allowing her to read the words that had been scribbled in pen.

Chow shared the story on a recent episode of the digital radio show and podcast, making her feelings about the man's actions very clear.

"I saw a really gutless break up go down yesterday," she explained to co-host Mike Etheridge. "So I'm on the train, I'm sitting there minding my own business and the guy in front of me keeps scratching his neck."

She saw he had written something on his hands but it took her a minute to realise what it actually said.

"I had to take a video of this because I couldn't quite believe this guy had written a break up note on his hand," she explained.

Written on the man's hand in blue pen are the words: "Send break up email."

Chow continued: "Firstly, are you serious, dude? Secondly, this poor girl is gonna be - unbeknownst to her and now we all know - this poor girl is gonna get broken up with, it's gonna land in her Gmail, 'I don't want to be together anymore.'"

One of the radio duo's TikTok followers joked, having watched the video: "The standard Thursday reminder for every male Uni student who picked up the weekend before."

Another said: "Or maybe there's a reason he's got to do it over email rather than in person."

"That's brutal," one person commented.

"Or we could not be judgy [sic] and jump to conclusions. Could be a work break up, sporting club break up," another suggested.

"Girl is better off," another said.

Ethridge defended the man, saying he "doesn't have a huge problem with it."

"I think the email is better, it's longer, perhaps you could list the reasons why you don't think it's going well."

Although Chow stuck by her original opinion which was the method is particularly cruel, saying she would prefer a phone call.

Although Etheridge told a story of a friend who broke up with his girlfriend by changing his Facebook status to: "Going away for a while."

"Wouldn't you just text her and say, 'I'm going away for a while?'" which Ethridge labelled "even more gutless".
