Mary's first official portrait as Queen unveiled
The first official portrait of the Danish royal family, including our very own Queen Mary, has been unveiled.
The palace's social media accounts shared three portraits of the family, which were taken by photographer Dennis Stenild just moments after Mary's husband King Frederik was officially proclaimed on the palace balcony on January 14.
The first photo shows the entire royal family, including both King Frederik and Queen Mary, their son and heir Crown Prince Christian, 18, and their three other children – Princess Isabella, 16, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 13.

The second photo shared includes just the new King and Queen, while the third photo includes the new Crown Prince.
In his first speech as King, Frederik paid tribute to his wife Mary and their family. He declared, "From my beloved wife, from my family, from you and from that which is bigger than us. I face the future with the knowledge that I am not standing alone."
Mary's appearance on the balcony was kept a surprise until the last second, with the crowd going wild at the sight of the first Australian-born Queen of a European monarchy.

Frederik and Mary decided to seal their new roles with a surprise kiss in front of more than 100,000 members of the Danish public.
Now, less than one week on from the historic moment, King Frederik has decided to open up about his life experiences as a royal in a new memoir, titled Kongeord which translates to The King's Word.
Released just two days ago, it has already become a bestseller.
In the book, the new King shares rare details of his 19-year-long marriage to Tasmanian-born Queen Mary.
He wrote candidly: "I have learned a lot from having a wife who, from time to time, reminds me that of course I am not always right."
