Princess Diana's niece Lady Amelia Spencer weds long-time love Greg Mallett in South Africa

Princess Diana's niece Lady Amelia Spencer has married her boyfriend of 14 years in a mountain-top ceremony.

The model, whose father is Earl Charles Spencer, married Greg Mallett near Cape Town in South Africa.

The couple, who aren't shy of sharing loved-up shots together on social media, are yet to post any photos from the big day but confirmed the nuptials in a magazine interview.

After meeting and getting engaged in South Africa, Spencer and Mallett announced they were relocating their lives to the UK two years ago, but it's clear the country still holds a very special place in their hearts.

"It means so much to get married here," the 30-year-old bride told Hello! magazine.

"Growing up here together for the last 14 years, all of mine and Greg's happiest times as a couple are here. It's even more special now."

The couple teased the upcoming nuptials in a joint post on social media last Thursday, saying "Not long now".

But it's not yet been revealed exactly when the ceremony took place.

Fitness and nutrition coach Greg, who is the nephew of former South African national rugby coach Nick Mallett, proposed to his bride at Clouds Wine & Guest Estate, a vineyard east of Cape Town, in July 2020.

The groom joked in a social media post on the anniversary of his proposal last year that the couple were "taking scenic route" to their big day.

Amelia is the daughter of Diana's brother, Charles, and his first wife, former model Victoria Lockwood.

Amelia's twin sister, Lady Eliza, 30, and her older sister, Lady Kitty Spencer, 32, were in attendance, the publication confirmed. It's not known if their brother Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, 29, was among family members there.

But half-brother Samuel Aitken - Lockwood's son with her second husband, Jonathan Aitken - was on hand, the magazine said.

It's also not known if the bride's half-siblings on her father's side were in attendance. Edmund Spencer, 19, and Lady Lara Spencer, 15, are Earl Spencer's kids with second wife Caroline Freud.

He also has a 10-year-old daughter with current wife Karen, Countess Spencer, named Lady Charlotte Diana Spencer.

It's believed Lady Amelia's cousins Prince William and Prince Harry missed the wedding.
