Princess Diana's niece Lady Amelia Spencer is moving back to the UK with her fiance

"My fiancé and I decided to relocate to the UK and are currently in transit in France!" Mallett, a fitness coach and estate agent, told his followers.

"Whilst it may seem like we got lucky (in many ways, we did), moving countries is difficult. It's been an emotional time saying goodbye to friends and family in SA.

"I'm so excited for this next chapter and can't wait to take the UK on with open arms!"

Lady Amelia, a cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, hasn't yet posted about the move on her Instagram account.

The couple announced their engagement in July 2020, after Mallett proposed at the Clouds Estate vineyard, east of Cape Town.

The move back to the UK is something of a homecoming for Amelia, who was born in the UK in 1992.

Her parents Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, and former model Victoria Aitkin moved the family to Cape Town three years later.

The couple divorced in December 1997, the news coming months after the death of Princess Diana.

Amelia has three siblings: older sister Lady Kitty Spencer, twin sister Lady Eliza Spencer and younger brother Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp.

While they grew up in South Africa, the Spencer children spent holidays at their ancestral home in the UK, Althorp House, which Earl Spencer is custodian of.

Career-wise, the three sisters have all followed in their mother's footsteps with modelling work.

"It's our family home, it's beautiful. We would be very lucky to get married there, but Cape Town is where we grew up and there is a possibility that we might do it here too," she said.
