Phoebe Burgess says she hasn't had sex since 2019 marriage split

Phoebe Burgess has shared a rare admission about her personal life, admitting she hasn't had sex since her split from ex-husband, retired footballer Sam Burgess, in 2019.

Phoebe was joined by writer Nikki Gemmell for the latest episode of her podcast Under The Gloss.

The pair spoke of their "sexless lives" which Phoebe described as "living their best, most free, autonomous lives".

"We are both sexless women," Phoebe continued. "I got divorced in 2019 I think, it was a good year for me, and people sort of say you're back in the dating pool... I am on dry land, there's not a toe dipped in the waters."

Phoebe spoke of Nikki Gemmell's most recent column published in The Australian, in which she spoke about making the choice to remove sex from her life now that she is perimenopausal.

Phoebe said she's enjoying her new-found freedom as a single mum and isn't ready to "give that up".

"I've been a serial monogamist my whole life. Nikki and I haven't had sex in three-and-a-half, nearly four years... and I'm not ready to risk that freedom," she added, a confession Gemmell described as "brave".

Both women confessed they don't even remember the last time they had sex.

Phoebe referred to her bitter split with Burgess, saying she "doesn't recommend divorce" but says she has embraced her newly single life.

Phoebe and Sam Burgess are parents two two children – Poppy, six, and Billy, four.

Burgess and new partner Lucy Graham are expecting their first child together.
