Legendary photographer who worked with Princess Diana dies aged 78
Iconic fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier has died at the age of 78.
The news of Demarchelier's passing was announced via his Instagram on Thursday afternoon.
The emotional statement read, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Demarchelier on March 31st 2022, at the age of 78."

"He is survived by his wife Mia, his three sons Gustaf, Arthur, Victor and three grandchildren."
The photographer's cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Demarchelier was a legend within his industry and has worked with some of the world's biggest names, including Princess Diana, Gisele Bundchen, Madonna and Bella Hadid.
Since the news of his passing broke, stars have taken to social media to pay tribute to the icon.

Bella Hadid shared a statement that read, "I am grateful to have been lucky enough to be in front of your lens. Most gentle, most legendary, soft but full of life. You will be missed Patrick. Rest In Peace."
Christie Brinkley also honoured Demarchelier in a post that said, "I loved working with Patrick. I loved just hanging with Patrick on the many trips we did. I just loved him."
Swarovski Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert also added, "So sad. Had such good memories working with Patrick. He will be missed."

Demarchelier was one of the most famous photographers in the fashion industry but it was his work with Princess Diana in the '90s that took his career to new heights.
He became known for his timeless and elegant images of Diana which helped establish her popularity with the public.
Demarchelier's work with Diana made him the first non-British photographer to be employed by the royal family.
In a previous interview with TIME, he described his work with Diana as "a great honour".
