While plenty of athletes have been posting some behind the scenes content of them living it up in the Olympic Village, others aren't finding the accommodation quite as welcoming.

US gymnast Simone Biles recently opened up about her anxiety in the Olympic Village, sharing the details in a "get ready with me" video posted on TikTok.

While she's been making headlines around the globe for her incredible work during competition, Biles shared that since arriving in Paris, she hasn't done much inside the Olympic Village.

"It's because the first day we got here, and I got to the cafeteria and a lot of people were asking me for photos, like nonstop, and whenever I sat down to eat my anxiety was so bad I was shaking," she said.

"I couldn't stop shaking and I was so overwhelmed," Biles added.

She shared that the day prior she had been to the cafeteria to meet a friend, but before that hadn't been "in like five days."

"I just go to the store, stock up on food, and just like, stay here because it gets me so anxious," she added, gesturing to her room.

Biles has been open about her mental health in the past, even withdrawing from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics to prioritise her wellbeing.

"Walking away from the Olympic Games was a win in itself," Biles told Brené Brown at the Simmons Leadership Conference in 2022 according to People. "I know a lot of people thought I failed because they expected me to go out with five or six medals, but walking out of it was my biggest win."

She continued on, saying it was one of the first times in her career that she'd made the decision to put herself first.

"Most of the time, I've always put myself on the back burner, because I've always cared and thought about everybody else before myself," shared Biles. "I was like, 'You know what? I have to do what's best for me, what's safe, and what's healthy for me'."
