He's been unofficially dubbed the 'muffin man' of the Olympics and now he's met his future King.

Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen became an unlikely breakout star of Paris 2024, thanks to his obsession with the chocolate muffins available to athletes in the Olympic Village.

The athlete and now viral TikToker has shared several hilarious TikToks about his love affair with the sweet treat, which have now been viewed by millions.

And the obsession has now reached all the way to the royal family of Christiansen's homeland.

When Crown Prince Haakon, the heir to the Norwegian throne, visited Norwegian athletes in the village, he posed for a photo with Christiansen... and one of his beloved muffins, naturally.

Both with cheesy grins plastered across their face, it's hard to discern who is more excited about the exchange.

Perhaps Christiansen is star-struck to be in the presence of Norwegian royalty or maybe Prince Haakon is pleased to have made acquaintance with the newly-dubbed Muffin Man.

But there is one thing that seems abundantly clear: they are both overwhelmed with joy to be in the presence of the one-and-only Olympic Village chocolate muffin.

Norway's official royal Instagram page got into the spirit, captioning the shot, "Do you know the muffin man?"

With the Olympic Games 2024 still underway until the Closing Ceremony this Sunday (Monday morning in Australia), Christiansen's love affair with the muffins is still going strong.

On Friday, July 26, Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen posted an innocent video eating a muffin in the Olympic village.

He may need to start thinking about what life post-Paris 2024 and post-muffin mania holds, as he adjusts to a new normal where the delicious treats are no longer at his fingertips.

A recent TikTok posted by Christiansen when he couldn't find the cherished treat in the Olympic village dining hall provides a concerning insight into what that muffin-free future might look like for the Olympic swimmer.

"Guys I think I'm going through withdrawals," he captioned the TikTok.
