Cadbury announces price increase for Freddo Frogs and Caramello Koalas for first time in years
The cost of living crisis is hitting us all hard, and even our beloved Freddo Frogs and Caramello Koalas are taking a hit.
This morning, Cadbury announced both Freddo Frogs and Caramello Koalas are set to double in price.
This means the beloved treats that once sat on grocery store shelves for $1 each will now jump up to $2 each.

Cadbury announced the news via a statement on its social media pages, explaining the reason behind the price jump is an increase in the cost of ingredients, particularly cocoa.
"Our Freddo Frogs and Caramello Koalas have delighted chocolate lovers for generations," a Cadbury spokesperson wrote.
"Due to the record global price of cocoa, and increased input costs, we have adjusted the RRP from $1 to $2."
The statement went on to say this will be the first price change Freddo Frogs and Caramello Koalas have seen in over a decade.
However, the good news is the price jump seems to only be affecting the two treats in singular form.
"Sharebags of Freddos and Caramello Koalas are also available and offer great value," the statement continued.

The spokesperson added that the chocolate giant appreciates customers understanding and that the company will continue to "strive to deliver the high-quality chocolate you love, made with the best local ingredients."
While the price hike is sure to upset many Aussies, it seems the rest of Cadbury's chocolates are safe for now.

At the moment, there has been no word on if the cost of any other treats owned by the brand will be affected by the increased price of cocoa.
So for now, it seems like Aussies wanting a sweet treat in the form of a Freddo Frog or Caramello Koala will either have to cop the price jump, or look for better value in the form of a share pack.
