Newborn baby discovered in rubbish bin at US Amazon warehouse

The body of a newborn baby has been found in a rubbish bin at an Amazon warehouse in the US.

The grim discovery was made inside the women's toilets at the Amazon Fulfilment Centre in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday night, according to Fox News, where the baby had been dumped in a plastic bag.

Police were unable to resuscitate the newborn, CNN reports, with emergency services telling local media the infant was "beyond resuscitation" when paramedics arrived on the scene.

The fulfilment centre remained in operation as police continued their investigations and a company spokesperson said they are working with officials on their investigations.
