Dilemma: 'I want to give my nephews cash Christmas gifts, but my sister said no'
I have three nephews aged 16, 15 and nine and they have become increasingly difficult to buy gifts for over the past couple of years. They are the sort of kids who get everything they want and need.

I do ask their mum for ideas, but she usually responds by telling me to "just get them whatever", which is so vague.
I've previously bought them gifts they already have or clearly don't like. When I gave them vouchers and treats instead, I was told they "don't really shop there."

This year I just want to give them cash. I know nobody uses cash much anymore, but I remember getting money as a gift and feeling so excited to spend it on something I really want.
I mentioned this to my sister, and she said she "doesn't think that's a good idea" because it is "too impersonal", they "don't really use cash anyway" and they "prefer gifts."
But I want to give them cash anyway.
Advice: 'Meet them halfway'
This is so tricky. It can be so difficult to buy gifts for older children, especially when they have so much stuff. But also kids tend to use cards instead of cash these days, which makes it even tricker.
When my kids get cash, I have to find an ATM to deposit it into their accounts which can be a bit annoying.

Maybe you can meet them halfway?
Instead of cash, or a gift card for a specific store, you can get them a gift card for their local shopping centre. Then they can spend it in any store they like?
And you don't need to run anything past your sister at this point. You are trying to do something your nephews like. That should be all that matters.
So do what you think is best. She'll get over it by next Christmas for sure.
