'Am I slow to the party?': Bargain hunters get in on marketplaces
Shoppers are slowly discovering a brand new service that offers even more bargain buys to Australians nationwide.
Kmart Marketplace, an e-commerce site which launched in May, has recently been discovered by a loyal customer who shared her find on the Kmart Buzz Facebook page.
"Am I slow to the party? When did Kmart get Kmart marketplace online?" she asked.

"I didn't know either. Haven't seen it," another said.
One shopper thought it launched "last week".
One Kmart lover said: "There's a marketplace?"
Just three days ago a Reddit post appeared on the 'Kmart Australia' thread, asking: "How long has Kmart had an online market place?"

'There's a marketplace?' Nine/Kmart
They also noted "the whole website has undergone a cosmetic change".
"What do you all think?" they asked.
A Kmart spokesperson confirmed to nine.com.au: "As announced in May, Kmart is establishing an online Marketplace to give our millions of customers who shop at kmart.com.au each week more choice and more products.
"We are in the early stages of our rollout, featuring brands our customers want."
Kmart Marketplace operates similarly to Woolworths' Everyday Market, offering a range of items that sell in addition to what shoppers will find in store.
Kmart Marketplace is for online purchases only and features both Kmart and Target products, as both brands are part of the Australian Wesfarmers group alongside Bunnings, Officeworks and Priceline Pharmacies.
Items sold via Kmart Marketplace will appear on Kmart's main website, with the addition of a the word "Marketplace" on the product listing.
The Kmart website describes Kmart Marketplace as an "online platform where you can buy products directly from curated sellers who fulfil the product and ship directly to you.
"This means you can access an extended range of products in one convenient place while you're shopping on Kmart Online.
"Kmart offers the platform to enable sellers to sell products directly to you. Kmart takes payment for these products on their behalf, but sellers are responsible for the product (including product listing content, delivery and returns)."

If you type "marketplace" into the Kmart website a number of toys and furniture items appear including the Lennox Kid's Supermarket Play Set for $59.95 and Artiss Kitchen Island Trolley Rolling Serving Cart for $139.95.

Woolworth's Everyday Market sells electronics, cleaning items such as vacuum cleaners, kitchen appliances, outdoor furniture, toys, and sports and fitness equipment.

Their e-commerce site sold gadgets, luxury homewares and everyday appliances.
