Unlikely $17 Kmart buy transforms damaged bed with stunning new look
A Brisbane woman has transformed her damaged bed with a tablecloth from Kmart.
Alex Casa Lawson purchased two of the red and pink striped large table cloths for $17 each from Kmart.
Lawson had the bright idea to upholster her grey bedframe with the colourful cloth, documenting how she did it on TikTok.

One cloth is 3.25 metres long by 1.50 metres wide, with two of them giving her the ample amount needed to upholster her bed.
"This is my best DIY hack ever," she said.
"After some water damage our bed unfortunately [has some staining] like this, so I decided to use a tablecloth from Kmart to give it a glow up."
She starts the project by taking her bed apart and cutting the tablecloth into pieces of fabric around each part of the frame.

Lawson makes sure to leave an inch of extra fabric before cutting around the pieces.
She then uses a staple gun to upholster each piece before reassembling the bed.
For the headboard, she added some wadding to the slab before stapling the cloth over the top.

"Can you believe this is two Kmart table cloths costing only $34 that have given this bed a completely new lease of life," the caption reads.
"I'm so pleased with how this turned out it's my favourite project in a long time."
TikTok users took to the comments to express how "genius" it was.

"Amazing 😍 doing this to my daughter's bed, another person wrote.
"I've been wanting to change the colour of my bed but don't really wanna get a new one so this is genius," a third person said.
