From locations to products: All the major changes coming to Costco Australia in 2026

2025 was a big year for Costco Australia.

In April, the bulk grocery retailer opened a new warehouse in Ardeer, Victoria that includes a large petrol station.

Costco also partnered with DoorDash so customers can order some of the store's most popular products to be delivered to their homes.

1. New locations

Costco has announced plans to open three new warehouses, with one at Brisbane Airport in Queensland scheduled to be completed by late 2026.

Locations in Pakenham, Victoria and Alkimos, WA, will also break ground, with the majority of planning and construction scheduled for 2026 and opening for business in 2027.

Costco currently operates 15 warehouses in Australia.

There are four in Victoria, four in NSW, three in Queensland, two in WA, one in SA and one in the ACT.

There are currently no Costco warehouses in Tasmania.

Costco is constantly adding new and exciting product to its stores.

While it doesn't release data on this, the discount bulk retailer and its loyal followers regularly share new releases on social media.

While many customers focus on grocery essentials and pantry staples to save, Costco also sells a range of items including electronics, outdoor gear, clothing, furniture and more.

Some of the new additions in 2025 have included Chunky Deli Chicken Gravy Kievs, Harvest Fields Granola, Kirkland Signature Dulce De Leche Cake and new Kenilworth Dairies cheese flavours.

Costco reportedly has plans to expand its range of fresh produce in 2026, including meat and produce, as well as bakery and deli items.

3. New tech including at entrance

This year, Costco installed new self-check in machine at its warehouses, which customers can use to scan their physical or digital membership cards to gain entry into stores.

Costco Australia is also reportedly testing 'Scan and Pay" technology in some locations.
