Miss Jamaica organisation shares a message of 'healing' as contestant remains in ICU after horror fall

The Miss Jamaica organisation has shared a message of "healing" a week after Miss Jamaica 2025, Gabrielle Henry fell off stage while competing during this year's pageant. 

Henry was rushed to hospital and remains in the intensive care unit, receiving treatment from the horror accident. 

On December 1, the Instagram account for Miss Jamaica shared a message ahead of the new month, celebrating a "season of recovery, reflection and renewed resilience." 

"After Hurricane Melissa, we rise with gratitude - for safety, for community, for the strength that binds us together," the statement read.

"This is our time to rebuild with hope, to restore with compassion, and to uplift each other with kindness." 

The message called for people to "be intentional" and "empathetic" as well as to "extend grace generously."

"Even in hardship, Jamaica's spirit remains unshaken – we endure, we unite, and we shine. Welcome, December – a month of healing, courage, and forward movement," the statement concluded.

The statement specifically touched on the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, but also a poignant nod to Henry. 

The current Miss Jamaica took a wrong step, plummeting from the stage during the preliminary pageant event for Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand on November 19. 

Details about her condition since the fall have been shared through the official Instagram page and a statement to People. 

It shared that the contestant's sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, as well as their mother Maureen Henry are currently by her side in hospital.

"Gabby isn't doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly," Dr. Henry-Samuels said.

At the time, doctors said she would need to remain in the ICU for a minimum of seven days as they continued to monitor her and provide special care.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation has asked fans to keep Gabby in their prayers, requesting the "public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family.

"Our primary focus remains on Gabrielle's recovery and the well-being of her loved ones. We kindly request continued compassion, sensitivity, and privacy as the family navigates this challenging period."

The latest update on Henry, which came over a week ago, from Miss Universe organiser Raúl Rocha, did not disclose any further details about her injuries. 

"We are grateful that she is now close to being released from the hospital," the statement read. 

But despite the update, no further information about her condition has been shared, with no update on whether she has been released from the ICU or hospital.
