Meghan Markle's 'sweet' gesture during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee
The Duchess of Sussex stepped in to help families in need during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, according to friend and actor Tyler Perry.
It was during the global infant formula shortage suffered in the US between May and July that Meghan Markle reportedly stepped in to help.
Perry shared the story at the annual Baby2Baby Gala event held at the Los Angeles Pactific Design Centre on Saturday night.
According to Vanity Fair, Tyler explained one of his employees had approached him asking for help to locate some formula.

He began searching but couldn't find any, so he called Meghan and Prince Harry who were in the UK at the time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations to ask if they could locate some there.
He says it was then that Meghan began going to stores on his behalf, searching for formula.

Perry didn't share if the duchess' efforts were successful. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are parents to Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, however it isn't known if they have been personally impacted by the formula shortage.
The Baby2Baby gala was attended by honoree Kim Kardashian who contributed to the organisation, along with Olivia Wilde, Kerry Washington, Miranda Kerr and Heidi Klum.

During the most recent episode of her Archetypes podcast, Meghan, 41, spoke with actress and activist Jameela Jamil about the online abuse since marrying Harry in 2018.
In a previous episode she spoke about being labelled "Duchess Difficult" during her time as part of the royal family.
"I was talking to a good girlfriend of mine this past weekend and when I saw her, she said something I had never heard before and she said, 'well, isn't that a convenient villain, an assertive woman in a position of power, being called the b word. How very convenient,'" she shared.
"But that's what happens when we label someone, a woman especially one of these words, it becomes a way to take their power away, keep them in their place.
