Maid of honour encounters snake while walking down the aisle

It's always annoying when uninvited guests show up at a wedding, especially when they "slither in" unnoticed.

A video uploaded by newlywed Allya Du shows her maid of honour and sister Maddie continuing her duties through thick and thin, completely unfazed as a snake slithers across her path down the aisle.

At first, nothing seems amiss in the video, which now boasts 6.2 million views. It is only until another shot of the maid of honour from a different angle shows her simply stepping to the side as a snake slithers in front of her path and into the grass next to her, as the wedding guests yell out in caution.

Not one to be discouraged, Maddie simply marches on down the aisle, determined to get to the altar in time for the bride's entrance. It is only as she is half way down the aisle that she is captured mouthing "Oh my god," finally processing what just happened as she makes her way down the aisle.

Commenters were stunned by the maid of honour's lack of reaction.

"She was so calm, I would've screamed and jumped and ran," commented one person.

"I would've had to disappoint the bride (because I'd be) leaving (in) the opposite direction," said another.

"Who invited the ex??! " another joked.

Maddie herself weighed in on the drama, commenting, "I was born the Chinese zodiac year of the snake so this is good luck for me."

"Snakes represent rebirth and healing, it's a very good omen especially seeing one at a wedding. I love this for them," another commenter said.
