Kyle Chalmers shares heartwarming hug with his fiancée Ingeborg Løyning after Olympic race

Following an incredible swim, Aussie sporting great Kyle Chalmers took home a silver medal in Paris for the 100m men's freestyle final.

After standing tall on the podium and collecting his Olympic prize, there was one very special person the swimmer ran straight over to celebrate the moment with.

In a short video reposted to his Instagram story on Thursday morning AEDT, Chalmers shared the heartwarming moment he embraced his fiancée who was cheering him on.

In the sweet clip, Norwegian swimmer Ingeborg Løyning, who was tagged in the story, went in for a big hug to congratulate her beau on his Olympic achievement.

Taking to her own Instagram story, Løyning reposted a photo of Chalmers standing on the Paris podium along with a heartfelt message to show just how proud she was.

"Lost for words," she wrote with a white heart and tearing up face emoji.

In a previous snap reshared to her story, Løyning showed off the matching 'King Kyle' shirts she and the Chalmers clan wore to cheer on the swimmer from the stands.

The Norway native was Chalmers' number one cheerleader as she rocked the iconic shirt with his initials and a crown printed boldly on the front.

Løyning has truly been her fiancé's biggest fan all through the Olympic Games so far, sharing wholesome updates to social media from her and Chalmers' time in Paris.

In one adorable video, the 23-year-old swimmer waved down to Chalmers and his teammates from her spot watching high up in the stands.

The pair also commemorated their first 24 hours in Paris with a wholesome photo of them both beaming as Løyning rested her head on Chalmers' shoulder.

Chalmers and Løyning's adventures abroad in the city of love comes just weeks after they blasted their surprise engagement news to social media.

But before they put a ring on it last month, the pair actually first met through their shared love of the sport a couple of years ago.

Løyning is a talented swimmer in her own right, competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games before relocating to Australia ahead of Paris in 2022.

After moving to Adelaide for her training, rumours quickly sparked that she'd struck up a romance with none other than Aussie swim legend Kyle Chalmers.

While they've been public with their relationship in recent months, the pair didn't confirm the relationship rumours until they'd already been dating for a year.

"Yes, we are a couple. We have been there for quite some time, since around December," Løyning confirmed her year-long romance with the Aussie to TV 2 in December 2023.

"That is not the whole reason, but one of the reasons why I went down to train in Australia," she added.

Later that month the couple went Instagram official with pics from their time together in Løyning's native Norway for a snowy white Christmas.

In May, the couple seemed to be enjoying some training time together, posing for a poolside pic in Queensland with the caption: "The hard work is being compiled here in Mackay."

Just one month later, the lovebirds shared their biggest relationship update yet: they're engaged!

Chalmers and Løyning announced they were taking the next step by posting some gorgeous photos of the Norwegian native with a glitzy diamond ring on that finger.

The couple simply captioned the engagement pics with an infinity symbol.
