How to host the sweetest Galentine's Day craft party with Kmart buys from just $3

February may be all about Valentine's Day, but one alternative is continuing to rise in popularity since it was first introduced in 2010.

Galentine's Day was invented by the TV show Parks and Recreation and referenced by the character Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler.

It's aim is for women to celebrate women, typically on February 13th, but you can do the 14th or any day you like.

And one of the sweetest ways to get your friends together is by hosting a craft party.

It can be brunch, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea or nibbles and drinks, but to make it extra special it helps to set the scene.

This year red and pink is absolutely huge, as are bows so I've gone with that, which perfectly ties into the love and friendship theme of Galentine's Day.

Nothing makes an impact for a special event quite like a tablecloth and this $3 pink and red reusable heavy duty tablecover looks stunning.

Since it's also a craft party we'll need an activity for the event so to stay in theme we've got heart-shaped canvases to paint.
