Photo of kindergarten kid during virtual lesson goes viral: 'A total mood'
Home-schooling amid the coronavirus pandemic has had its trying moments for parents.
When US mum Kara McDowell captured her five-year-old son Graham's reaction to yet another virtual lesson, it struck a chord around the world.
"My Kindergartener on a 40 minute video call is a total mood," the mum-of-three captioned the Twitter post.
The image has had 58,700 likes and 11,400 retweets, as well as hundreds of comments since it was posted last month.
"This is all of us," one person replied, while another shared: "This NEEDS to be a 2020 meme."
Another person said: "Whoever came up with 40 minute video calls for kindergarteners clearly hates people."
One stressed parent said: "Omg thank you for sharing this I always feel like a failure of a mum when my kindergartener shuts down during virtual class!!"
While another wrote: "I am experiencing this right this second with a third grader. And today's only a half-day"
Ms McDowell later posted another picture of Graham to show it wasn't all doom and gloom for the youngster.
"I've gotta say, teachers are trying their best! For balance, here's another pic from the same day. My Kindergartener happily sharing his stuffed animal during show and tell," Kara told followers.
The writer also plugged her book in the Twitter thread, joking that going viral wasn't on her bingo card for 2020 so she was going to make the most of it.
"I think if you're in school or working from home and doing anything over a long video, call you can relate to being totally over it," the mum-of-three told Good Morning America this week.
