The Duchess of Cambridge just revealed her bizarre childhood nickname

Long before she was a Duchess, Kate Middleton was given another nickname - and it’s unusual, to say the least.

During a visit to her old school St Andrews, in Pangbourne, Berkshire, the Duchess - who tends to keep quiet about her private life wherever possible - told pupils about her past at the school, and an anecdote about her nickname happened to slip out. Turns out that Kate was called ‘Squeak’ by those closest to her when she was a child, and in a bizarre twist of fate, that was also the name of the school guinea pig.

"There was one called Pip and one called Squeak, so my sister was called Pip and I was Squeak," she said to pupils at her old school.

While we doubt she still goes by that moniker, Kate has had her fair share of nicknames over the years. Current titles include Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, Her Royal Highness The Countess of Strathearn, Countess of Strathearn and Lady Carrickfergus, and even Princess William of Wales.
