US First Lady Jill Biden unveils final White House Christmas decorations
United States First Lady Jill Biden has revealed her final round of Christmas decorations ahead of her departure from the White House.
Jill, 73, recently received a delivery of the official White House Christmas tree, sharing a video of its arrival to her 4.2 million FLOTUS followers on Instagram.
"From the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to Washington, D.C., this year's official White House Christmas Tree represents the tremendous strength of those recovering and rebuilding after Hurricane Helene," the video was captioned.

In the video, we see Jill with National Guard families watching the tree arrive and posing for photos.
In her next post, Jill unveiled her festive work inside the residence, unveiling the theme: "A Season of Peace and Light."

The post was made up of several photos of her handiwork along with the description: "As we celebrate our final holiday season here in the White House, we are guided by the values we hold sacred: faith, family, service to our country, kindness toward our neighbors, and the power of community.
"That's what inspired our 2024 White House holiday theme – what I think of this time of year: 'A Season of Peace and Light.'"
Jill thanked volunteers who helped decorate.
The decorations include 83 Christmas trees, 9810 feet (approx. 2.99km) of ribbon, more than 28,125 ornaments, and 2200 hand-cut paper peace doves.
"It's been the honour of our lives to serve as your first family. May our nation be blessed with peace and light this holiday season," she said.
"Merry Christmas, happy holidays, we love you all. Thank you," she said.
As many as 100,000 visitors are expected to view this year's Christmas decorations at the White House this year ahead of Jill and Joe Biden's departure in January, following Donald Trump's election win.
Then, Christmas will be in the hands once again of returning First Lady Melania Trump.

Jill Biden extended Melania Trump the customary invitation last week as her husband also invited the president-elect to the Oval Office, a symbolic gesture to show the country and the world that there will be a peaceful transition of power.
