A look back at James Packer's engagements and marriages as the billionaire prepares to walk down the aisle again

It's official: James Packer is giving love another chance.

The Australian billionaire has confirmed he is engaged to Canadian-born former model and socialite Kylie Lim after the pair reignited their romance last year.

The news comes after Lim, 46, was spotted wearing a large diamond ring while out and about in Aspen, Colorado, prompting speculation of a proposal.

For Packer, 58, the engagement is his fifth, and marks another chapter in a romantic history that spans decades, famous faces and lavish weddings.

Kate Fischer

Packer's first major public relationship began in the early 1990s with model and actor Kate Fischer, who is now known as Tziporah Malkah.

They became one of Australia's most talked-about celebrity couples and were engaged in 1996.

However, the two called off their engagement in 1998.

Jodhi Meares

A year later, Packer married model and fashion designer Jodhi Meares in October 1999.

Their relationship captured plenty of attention at the time, though the marriage lasted less than three years, ending in separation in 2002.

Erica Baxter

Packer later found love again with model and singer Erica Baxter.

The two married in 2007 and went on to welcome three children during their six-year marriage.

The split was announced in 2013, though Packer has remained on good terms with Baxter in the years since.

Mariah Carey

In 2016, Packer became engaged to global superstar Mariah Carey - a relationship that few could forget.

The engagement dominated headlines, particularly after Carey stepped out wearing a 35-carat diamond ring reportedly worth around $13 million in 2016.

However, the couple called off their nuptials later that year.

Packer went on to describe the split as a "trainwreck", revealing it was one of the darkest periods of his life.

The billionaire said tensions between the pair escalated towards the end of the engagement, claiming Carey had threatened to say damaging things about him publicly.

Reflecting on the period, Packer admitted he had "a lot on my mind" during what he labelled as one of his lowest points.

Carey later released her 2020 memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which made no reference to Packer. When asked about the omission, the singer told The Guardian the book only included "relationships that mattered."

Kylie Lim

Packer was first linked to Lim in late 2017.

The pair were spotted together several times over the following years, including during a trip to Sydney in 2020 while Packer was preparing to front a NSW Government inquiry into Crown.

The romance eventually ran its course in 2020, with Packer later briefly dating American model Renee Blythewood in 2024.

But by early 2025, he and Lim, who largely keeps out of the public eye, had reunited.

The couple appear to be looking ahead together, with the former casino magnate telling news.com.au: "We are very happy to be engaged and looking forward to the future."
