Hope Hicks spotted on Trump jet

Former White House communications director Hope Hicks, who resigned from the role in March, has been spotted boarding Air Force One at a New Jersey airport on Saturday just before the president's jet departed to fly Donald Trump to a campaign rally in Ohio.

Hicks boarded the plane at the Morristown, New Jersey airport, which is near the Trump Bedminster resort where the President was staying.

The 29-year-old’s appearance has sparked plenty of social media discussion, with many speculating as to why Hicks was travelling on the president’s aircraft.

In March, Hicks quit her role a day after admitting to an investigation panel that she told "white lies" for President Trump.
 
The ex-communications director, who was a long-time aide to Trump, was interviewed for nine hours by a panel investigating Russia interference in the 2016 US election and contact between Trump's campaign and Russia.
While she acknowledged to the House intelligence panel that she has occasionally told "white lies" for Trump, she said she had not lied about anything relevant to the Russia investigation. Hicks also refused to answer any questions on her time in the White House.
A day after being probed, Hicks resigned.

In a statement, the president praised Hicks for her work over the last three years and said he "will miss having her by my side."

Trump touched down in Ohio on Saturday August 4 where he presented at a 'Make America Great Again' campaign rally held at Olentangy Orange High School.
