'How do I get these dark circles out of my dressing table?'

Most of us would think to use a drink coaster on a coffee table or even a dining table, but not necessarily to bring them up to our bedrooms for use on our dressing tables.

Considering how long many of us take to do our hair and makeup each day, it makes sense to sip on a hot or cold beverage throughout.

But then, we are left with a dressing table that looks something like this

Although, upon closer inspection these particular circles could even be from the tubes of cosmetics themselves.

A Redditor has asked the 'Cleaning Tip's thread: "How do i get these dark circles out of my dressing table?"

They said they "have no idea what they could be and they don't come off when [they] use general spray and wipe".

"I think it's an Ikea Alex or Malm desk," they added.

Stains on white furniture pieces can prove to be stubborn – except when you are a cleaning expert who has seen everything when it comes to damage to household goods and fixed up most of them.

One Redditor suggested: "Mr Clean Magic Eraser, but try it on an inconspicuous spot first, because some surfaces get small scratches from it."

"This didn't work," the furniture owner responded. "Thank you for the suggestion though."

We decided to reach out to a cleaning expert for help with this one.

Deepak Shukla, CEO of Pearl Lemon Cleaning is familiar with this particular cleaning scenario.

He suggests two common and affordable household products that can be used to remove these dark circles.

"Honestly, the best thing you can do is mix a bit of baking soda with water to form a paste, then gently rub it into the stains with a soft cloth," he told 9honey.

"It really works wonders on these types of marks."

"If that doesn't work, a dab of non-gel toothpaste on a cloth and a bit of elbow grease should do the trick too," Shukla added.

"Just remember, coasters are a game-changer for keeping your table safe from future damage."
