Reformer Pilates – with a twist
Get fit, with a raving twist. Getty/iStock
The world seems to be loving a bit of Reformer Pilates at the minute, and there's a reason for it.
It's a low-impact workout that uses a special machine called a Reformer, a bed-like frame with springs and a carriage that slides on rails.
But you don't just have to go to run-of-the-mill classes, oh no. Many across Australia have themed workouts, so it's more like a rave than an actual fitness class.
We signed up for Class Pass, which allows you to try a ton of different fitness classes across Australia to find one that might suit you best.
We discovered a number of rave-inspired Pilates classes, with each workout set to epic dance music while you're surrounded by mirrors. There are also dance-themed spin classes, so you can spend an entire hour cycling to the music of Taylor Swift. Genius.
Bring your mates to that, and it's like having a dance party in the day.
Hiking groups
There might be a ton of run clubs dotted across Australia, but there's also a whole bunch of hiking groups that are equally as dedicated to the craft.
You can find many across the country that will be suited to you – whether you're looking for a short distance stroll or a lengthy one that's a touch more challenging.

Many groups offer various activities for different skill levels, so not only can you come with pals but you can also meet brand new people along the way.
There's also a new trend taking over Sydney – Urban Hiking.
Sydney-siders are choosing to leave their cars and bikes at home, forgo public transport and Ubers and instead rely on their own two legs to do the work.
From Cabramatta to Newtown, Parklea to Circular Quay, and the CBD to Mount Druitt – young people are choosing to walk huge distances across Sydney, seemingly for the fun of it. That could be you!
Dance classes
We all have fond memories of hitting the night club on the regular for a cheeky dance with pals, but that's not always possible these days.
But how about a sober dance class in the middle of the day, with all your mates?
It's 2025, so it's not all about a Zumba class on a Friday evening anymore (although that is still very much an option).
These days you can sign up for line dancing classes, pole dancing, ballroom – the world is your oyster!

Silent Disco walks
OK, this one might be a touch quirky, but did you know there are tons of silent disco fans storming through the streets on a regular basis?
The concept is simple – you all get a pair of headphones playing absolute bangers, and you walk along the streets being guided as you dance. Hilarious.
It'll have you dancing, laughing and keeping fit with a pulsating beat in your ears – and many run weekly across the country. Grab your mates, we'll see you there.
