Woolworths' Hot Roast Chicken Manager Isabella Di Moia says the staple has been an Aussie family favourite since it first hit shelves in 1960 – and the new special edition flavour will be no exception.
"They say variety is the spice of life, and our customers love it when we bring fresh flavours into the store. This latest limited-edition chook brings a tasty smokey spin on a classic," Di Moia said.
Every year Woolworths sells about 20 million roast chooks, including the traditional variety, and a number of limited-time flavours.
"Some of the most recent flavours include Zeus Street Greek, Garlic Bread and BBQ Memphis."

According to Di Moia, the newest addition to the range will be landing in stores next week at $14.
This latest announcement from Woolies comes a week after they were beaten out for Australia's 'best supermarket chicken' award category.
IGA claimed the top spot in Canstar Blue's 2026 Most Satisfied Customer Award for rotisserie chickens, beating Costco, Woolworths and Coles to take out the title.
The supermarket chain received strong ratings across the key drivers of customer satisfaction, unseating Costco after its five‑year winning streak.
Canstar surveyed 1,935 Australians for their feedback on the rotisserie chicken brands they've purchased from a supermarket and consumed in the last three months.
Respondents rate their satisfaction from zero to 10, where zero is extremely dissatisfied and 10 is extremely satisfied.
Brand satisfaction was rated according to value for money, taste, freshness, and packaging.
An IGA spokesperson told nine.com.au: "The Rotisserie Chicken has been a longtime IGA shopper favourite, which is no surprise as it's a tasty, convenient, and great value meal."
