The three-ingredient roast chook meal you can make without a pot or pan in sight
When Aussies want a low-effort yet nutritious dinner, we often look no further than the supermarket roast chook, a pack of coleslaw and some dinner rolls.
However, this iconic combo can sometimes be repetitive. Not to fear, as a viral TikTok recipe is reviving the classic taste with just two additional ingredients.
The recipe has made the rounds all around the world, but Aussie TikTok creator Kel Norman shared her version using a Coles rotisserie chicken.

She began by taking the chicken out of the bag and separating the meat from the bone.
She made sure to keep the juices of the chicken in the bottom of the bag, piling the cooked white rice, scallions, and the chicken back into the bachelor's handbag, as the rotisserie chicken bag is affectionately called.
Those are the three main ingredients of the dish, with many users adding other seasonings of their choosing. Norman chose to add furikake seasoning and soy sauce before mixing it all up in the bag and serving in a bowl.
She also added some Japanese BBQ sauce to the top as she dug in. Other recipes online have made different Asian-inspired twists.

One user made a Korean-inspired sauce with butter, gochujang, and kimchi, while another created an easier version of Hainanese chicken rice by adding hot oil to the scallions to create scallion oil, chilli sauce, and fresh cucumbers.
Viewers shared their thoughts on the easy recipe.
"Oooooo, that is one of the best dinner ideas I've seen ya do!! I think I could even get my kids to eat that!!" said one mum.

"I live alone, this is perfect. Why didn't I think of this!" exclaimed one.
"It saves you from washing a bowl," another noted.
Others shared their own variations.
"I do this too, although I mix it in the rice cooker .. I pop some sweet corn, shredded carrot, and peas in the rice cooker with the rice!" said one.
"Use red salad onion instead of spring onion [and] add Kewpie as dressing. Thank me later," another added, while someone else recommended adding a scrambled egg.
One user shared, "I'm going to airfry the chicken skin oofft [thanks] for this idea," while another suggested pan-frying everything together instead of mixing it in the bowl.
