A Woolworths in Sydney's inner-south has accidentally become the star of a viral TikTok video after a tourist discovered an inbuilt pizza and pasta bar exclusive to the store.

Social media influencer and tourist Katy Gibbs took to her one million TikTok followers to share her new favourite food spot in Sydney.

Gibbs, who is from the UK, vlogged her experience grabbing a quick dinner from "Pizza Pasta Please" in Green Square, which is actually part of the supermarket.

"We're starving and we cannot be bothered to make dinner, so we're going to get a $10 pasta dish," she explained to the camera.

"We get it every day – you can make your own pasta and pizza and it's so cheap. It literally takes five minutes to make."

She then showed herself ordering a bowl of pasta at a self-serve register, saying that while you wait it you can "look around the shop."

After picking up her pasta, she paid for it at the self-checkout register in-store.

Eagle-eyed followers quickly realised the pasta bar was actually part of the Woolworths store, and frankly they were elated.

"What the hell, I've never seen this in Woolies," one person commented.

"Can they put this in all Woolies?" another person wrote.

"Which Woolies do this? My local doesn't!" Another person said.

Gibbs' video has racked up over 300,000 views and 40k likes, accidentally making the new addition to the Woolworths go viral.

The pasta bar, which is called Pizza Pasta Please, is currently only available at the Green Square location, a spokesperson for Woolworths told nine.com.au.

"We opened this location last August in our Green Square Metro as part of a trial," the spokesperson said.

"It's all about that ultimate convenience offering: grabbing a fresh, gourmet dish at the same time as your milk and bread.

"We're continuing to work with the business to explore fresh ideas for this location and love seeing the community out and about enjoying their dinner and shopping in one hit."

It's not clear whether the addition will be added to more stores in the future, despite the demand.

Woolworths may be one of the few Australian stores that offers something like this, but US retailer Costco and Swedish brand Ikea have offered hot food and even a place to sit for decades.

It's not the brand's first foray at offering freshly-made food.

Woolworths partnered with Sushi brand Sushi Izu in 2011 to offer freshly-made sushi in select stores.

The partnership is ongoing, with the sushi bar found in 240 Woolworths stores across the country.

Consumers can only hope the Pizza and Pasta bar will have a similar rollout and reach in the coming years.
