The two-ingredient treats TikTok can’t get enough of
In a time-poor economy, any fun, quick-fire recipe is bound to blow up, and right now, two-ingredient watermelon ice cream is officially having its moment.
Forget the fuss of expensive equipment and constant churning – all that’s needed to make a delectably creamy alternative is watermelon and heavy cream, milk or condensed milk.

Popularised by food creators including Alexa Santos via The Feed Feed, this no-churn ice cream is made by simply halving and freezing your watermelon, before incorporating the milk or cream with the frozen fruit.
Specifically, Santos recommends halving, then scooping out a small, bowl-like section of the inside of the watermelon before wrapping and freezing.
Once left overnight, the condensed milk is then poured into the hollowed-out section of the frozen watermelon, before scraping the fruit in to mix the components together.
What you’re left with is a creamy, scoop-able light pink treat that can immediately be served with a drizzle of honey – if you feel so inclined.
This isn’t the only winning recipe using only two ingredients that’s captured social media’s imagination in recent months.
The “cheat’s cheesecake” hack that exploded earlier this year, prompting Greek yoghurt to fly off supermarket shelves, is equally simple.
Thick, high-protein Greek yoghurt is combined with Biscoff biscuits (though any firm biscuit will do), which soften in the fridge to mimic a cake-like consistency.
This no-bake, deconstructed cheesecake takes mere minutes to assemble, so is the perfect sweet treat for those on the go.
Starting with a single-serve tub of yoghurt, (about one cup) scooped into a bowl or jar, submerge four or five of your chosen bikkies into the yoghurt until completely covered. That’s it.

From there, place the two-ingredient concoction into the fridge for at least four to eight hours to give it time to sit, while the biscuits soak up the moisture from the yoghurt to soften into a cakey texture.
You can further elevate the “cheatcake” by drizzling warm Biscoff spread over the top, or adding a fresh berry compote.
And if you’re looking for a winter warmer to combat the cold season, look no further than the viral two-ingredient berry cobbler currently making the rounds.
Made from a dead-simple combo of store-bought cookie dough and a pack of frozen berries, it’s just as easy as it is scrumptious.
Just preheat your oven to 190°C, pour the frozen berries into the bottom of a greased baking dish, slice or break the cookie dough into chunks and layer them over the berries.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cookie top is golden brown and the berry juices are bubbling – then voilà! Bob’s your uncle.
