According to Oceanwatch Australia, Australians are encouraged to eat two to three serves of seafood each week – so this tip will come in handy.

Using salmon as the example, chef and food blogger Ereka Tetrini revealed a hack she learned from Chef Steps for achieving "perfectly crispy" skin on the pan.

She uses parchment paper, which is similar to baking paper here in Australia, as the base for the fish.

After seasoning the skin with salt and pepper, she then placed the fish skin-side down on the sheet of baking paper.

"As the oil begins to heat, coat both sides of the parchment paper then lay the fish on top of the parchment paper skin-side down," she explained.

"A few minutes later I've got perfectly crispy skin and the paper didn't stick! Look at that, total game changer."

In her clip, Tetrini demonstrated how she laid the salmon onto the paper and let it cook without touching it for several minutes.

After the skin is crisped to your liking, you just swap the salmon over and let the rest of the fish cook through.

This fish hack is an alternative to simply cooking the skin with oil, which can result in the skin sticking to the pan.

You can also crisp the skin first and cook the rest of the salmon in the oven if you prefer it oven-baked.

"Skin often sticks… can be tricky to control," Tetrini said in reply to a few naysayers on her video.
