There are many ways to pass the time during flights. You can enjoy a delicious drink or snack while watching TV shows and movies.

You can recline your seat and take a nap.

Or, you can put that time to even better use, by making your own pasta, like this passenger did from the comfort of her window seat.

And we're not talking about instant noodles or packet pasta. This skilled traveller made gnocchi, stirring the flour and eggs with her finger until they were perfectly blended, before kneading the dough and then crafting each piece of pasta by hand.

The perfectly made plane pasta is the work of Katie Brooks, a recipe creator and pasta enthusiast who runs Buona Pasta Club.

Her latest video showing her pasta making skills during a recent flight has clocked up more than 10 million views.

Many of her followers had the same question. It's all well and good to have made the pasta, but was she able to cook it and eat it?

Did she have a jar of pasta sauce in her handbag?

"How did you cook it?? Heat up an electric kettle?" one asked.

"But how did you cook it?" another said.

"Where did u boil the macroni?"

"So, did you eat it raw?"

Brooks' work focuses on the craft of making pasta from scratch by hand, so cooking and eating the pasta she made during the flight wasn't the goal.

Still, it would have been a delicious alternative to plane food had she managed it.

To those pointing out even uncooked pasta would be better than the plane food they had encountered, one fellow traveller said: "My airplane food is always on point..idk what you're talking about."

They then shared a photo of an extraordinary-looking in-flight meal. There's no way they are flying economy.

Another simply said: "I mean, you could also pack a sandwich."

"My question is how did you get a ziploc bag of flour through security," one asked.

Another said: "I wanna know how you got a bag of flour through customs."

Brooks' hasn't yet revealed the fate of her perfectly-crafted gnocchi.
