Move over, chocolate muffin – there's a new viral dessert in The Winter Olympics athletes' village
Move over, chocolate muffin – there's a new dessert going viral at the Olympic Winter Games.
Anyone who has been keeping up with Olympians on social media has likely heard about the tiramisu being served in the athletes' village at Milano Cortina 2026.
Swiss snowboarder Jonas Hasler first posted about the dessert on his Instagram and TikTok accounts, referencing the chocolate muffin that went viral during Paris 2024.

The video went viral on both platforms, with people dubbing Hasler "the tiramisu man".
"I think I found the chocolate muffin of the Winter Olympics," he starts the video by saying.
"It's got to be the tiramisu ... the tiramisu is always gone, I've only got it once. I've heard it's insanely good."
He then films himself as he takes a bite of the dessert, telling viewers, "Wow, it's really good."
Hasler is referring to the coveted chocolate muffin that became an online sensation during the Summer Olympics in 2024.
It went viral when Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen posted more than 10 TikTok videos expressing his love for the gooey chocolate dessert, which led to him being nicknamed "The Muffin Man."
After Hasler's video went viral, Christiansen deemed him the official "tiramisu man" of The Winter Olympics, passing the torch (so to speak) to the Swiss athlete.

While Christiansen started the trend, Hasler is carrying the legacy on to Milano Cortina 2026.
Other athletes have also been posting about the incredible dessert.
Figure skater Kat Lacanilao took to TikTok to express her love for the Italian classic.
"What do you mean I just had the best Tiramisu ever while at the Winter Olympics?" she wrote.
"If they ask you to choose between a tiramisu and another dessert... choose the Tiramisu."
Tiramisu is a traditional Italian dessert, made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and whipped mascarpone cream.
A chocolate lava cake is also causing a stir in the athletes' village, with Olympians posting about how delicious it is.
