We all love a trip to Macca's, but can't help feeling a little cheated when we see what the world favourite has on offer overseas.

From burgers with a twist to decadent desserts, here are the items we wish they had on the menu in Australia.

France

McDonald's in France – where it's known as McDo – has lots of unique offerings.

That includes the limited edition Signature by McDonald's County AOP & Ham Rostello.

It's a burger consisting of a hefty slice of a type of French cheese, melted sauce and herb roasted ham.

When 9Honey visited Paris earlier this year we headed straight to French Macca's to try the menu.

Our highlight was the McChocoNuts, a kind of chocolate burger, which was delicious.

You can also get a McBaguette, as seen on the Netflix series Emily in Paris.

There's the Veg Surprise Burger, described as "a scrumptious potato patty topped with a delectable Italian herb sauce and shredded onions placed between perfectly toasted buns."

We also fancy the Butter chicken grilled burger, which is a "premium grilled chicken patty topped with makhani sauce and shredded onions placed between freshly toasted sesame seeded buns."

The restaurant says it has two chicken burgers, as well as salad and harberno sauce.

You can round off your meal with a typically Indian drink, a Masala Chai.

Switzerland

Chicken Paprika only exists at McDonald's Switzerland.

The restaurant describes it as a "perfect meeting between a piece of juicy chicken, coated in delicious breading fried in Swiss rapeseed oil and a delicate paprika sauce."

Switzerland also has its own version of local meat and melted cheese dish raclette - the McRaclette.

South Korea

The nation is home to new creation, the mammoth Meat Chili BLT Burger.

It's made with meat chili sauce, sour cream and lettuce and tomatoes, McDonald's says.

The Double Bulgogi Burger Meal from South Korea McDonalds

Also interesting is the Double Bulgogi Burger Meal.

"Fire up your taste buds with two patties marinated in Korean's favourite Bulgogi sauce, melty cheese, creamy mayo and crisp lettuce," McDonald's says.

South Africa

South Africans with taste for spice can enjoy the tasty sounding Jalapeno Double which features two burgers,.

It includes Jalapeno 'crisps', which we would like to get our chops on.

Italy

Forget chicken nuggets, in Italy it's all about panzerotti.

They're crisp little turnovers filled with mozzarella cheese.

9Honey actually tried them in Florence this past summer, and they were as great as they sound.

We do need to return though to try another highlight of the Italian menu: Le Ricche Cheddar – basically chips topped with cheese.

You can also sample a McFlurry with a difference in Italy - with pistachio. Totally amazing.

Japan

Japan is a whole new world when it comes to McDonald's, where locals call it Makku.

From the HiruMac Teriyaki McBurger to the Rich Hashed Beef Gracoro there are so many different items alongside the classics, all with typical Japanese flavours.

Spicey fries from McDonalds McDonalds

We'd love to sample the Bai Shrimp Filet-O, a new spin on the Fillet-O-Fish.

Even the fries are different.

They have the option to add a sachet of what appears to be spicy pepper, with the Shaka Shaka Potato Red & Black Double Pepper fries.

Spain

Spain apparently likes to go over the top, as demonstrated in this monster Maccas option.

The McExtreme BBQ Bourbon Egg features two burgers, smoked bacon, smoked cheese, as well as an egg.

It's finished with "barbecue sauce flavoured with Bourbon" according to McDonald's.

And while McFlurrys are on offer in Australia, we're petitioning for the Lotus Biscoff version to come here.

Philippines

We're not sure about 'McSpaghetti' from Maccas in the Philippines, but we'd give it a go.

It comes with the Chicken McDo, which is described as a "tender and juicy" piece of chicken served with the "classic spaghetti with ground beef and signature sauce."

Hong Kong

It's no surprise Hong Kong's McDonald's restaurants have a few unusual options.

For pure novelty value we'd love to get a look at the Sausage N' Egg Twisty Pasta.

It boasts "eggs from the USA" and the options of "hot chicken or tonkotsu broth."

Canada

The nation's most famous dish, poutine, is on offer at McDonald's in Canada.

It's basically chips with gravy and cheese curds.

Malaysia

Malaysia's menu is pretty typical of McDonald's.

But as well as the Sweet Chilli Fish Burger, we'd like to sample one of the side options, just for the novelty.

The corn cup is a bowl of corn.

The European nation has a toffee apple donut on the menu for Christmas..

Other different things we spotted are the veggie dippers.

Dessert options include a McFlurry made with decadent Galaxy chocolate.

Norway

Norway serves sweet potato fries as an option, and we'd go there for this reason alone.

Norwegians also get to enjoy a burger with a twist, in the Homestyle Taco Beef Burger.

Thailand

The Samurai Pork Burger is only on offer in the Asian nation and certainly looks intriguing.

We'd also like to head over and try the Kaprao Rice, which is stir-fried rice with beef.

Bizarrely, McD Porridge is also an option, which we would give a go, too.
