McDonald's Australia has confirmed exciting news for lovers of the iconic hash browns and McMuffins.

Almost two months ago, the popular fast food chain decided to reduce its breakfast menu timing by 90 minutes to finish at 10.30am instead of midday.

McDonald's now tells 9honey Kitchen the breakfast window has been extended again – but it's not completely back to normal.

The McDonald's breakfast menu offering will now run from 4am until 11:30am – half an hour short of the initial end time.

But after two months of a 10:30am Macca's brekky curfew, we're sure fans will welcome the extra hour to snag their breakfast favourites.

"We're excited to share that Macca's brekkie fans can get their favourite breakfast items, including the Bacon and Egg McMuffin, Sausage McMuffin and Hotcakes between 4:00am-11:30am at McDonald's restaurants across the country," McDonald's Australia said in a statement provided to 9honey Kitchen.

The changing breakfast menu timing came about in the wake of a nationwide egg shortage due to a widening bird flu outbreak.

The fast food chain made the call to reduce the demand for eggs amid the shortage.

"Like many retailers, we are carefully managing supply of eggs due to the current industry challenges," McDonald's Australia said in a statement to 9Honey Kitchen at the time.

"We know our customers love a Macca's breakfast, so to make sure we can continue to serve up fresh Aussie eggs on our menu, we'll be temporarily offering breakfast until 10:30am only (usually available until Midday) across Australia."

Now the wait is over in eggs-cellent news for fans of the golden arches who no longer have to make a mad dash to get their Macca's brekky before 10am.

"We want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during the temporary changes to our brekkie menu," McDonald's Australia said in the statement.

"A huge thank you also to our network of Aussie farmers, producers and suppliers, who ensured we could keep fresh, 100% Aussie eggs on the menu in our restaurants, nationwide."
