sKFC has brought back its cult-favourite $3 Hot Rods after a two-year absence.

The budget menu item is simply spicy KFC chicken with crispy golden coating served on a stick, and they come with a side of aioli sauce.

Hot Rods were first introduced by the fast food giant in 2007 before making a brief return in 2024.

Demands for their return had grown far and wide from fried chicken lovers, and their prayers have now been answered.

"We know Aussies have a soft spot for bold flavour and a bit of fun, and our Hot Rods deliver both in spades," Vanessa Rowed, CMO at KFC Australia, said.

"We've heard the fans calling for their return, and we're thrilled to be bringing this fan favourite back to menus across the country. "

This isn't the first time KFC Australia has brought back a fan-favourite menu item.

In April their iconic Tower Burger returned after a 17-month absence.

Again, this was in response to customer requests.

The Tower Burger features a double-breaded Original Crispy fillet with tomato sauce, cheese, mayo, lettuce, and a hash browns.

KFC lovers have persisted with requests for the iconic burger to return after it was pulled from menus in November 2024.

Multiple Reddit threads and social media posts begged the fast food retailer to bring the Tower Burger back, and they eventually listened.

KFC Australia told nine.com.au the burger had been one of the most requested menu items since being discontinued, with the retailer going one step further with brand new Tower menu items.

These include the Tower Stacker, which has not one but two Original Crispy fillets, and the Tower Twister, a wrap version of the Tower Burger.

"The Tower Burger has long been one of the most requested burgers on our menu, so we're excited to be bringing it back for fans alongside the Tower Stacker and Tower Twister," Vanessa Rowed, CMO at KFC Australia, said.

Sadly, the Tower range was only available until May 11.

One day later, KFC fans have been comforted with the return of Hot Rods, which will only be available until June 8.

If KFC keeps this up, fans may see nostalgic favourites return each month, and we can't wait to see what will come next.

Hot Rods are available in a three-piece or six-piece feed or as a meal with chips, gravy and drinks.
