Clever trick for making a toastie when you don't have a sandwich press
Never let not having a sandwich press get in the way of a good toastie.
That's a principle one Aussie Reddit user lived by this week, when they found themselves with some leftover spaghetti bolognese, bread... but no toasted sandwich maker.
Undeterred by their missing appliance, they found the next best thing – and now they might be making a habit of their hack.

"I couldn't find the [jaffle] maker but the [significant other] had a Samosa maker in cupboard... I think I've started myself a thing," u/sinz84 shared on the Australia subreddit.
Alongside their story, they shared an impressive-looking toasted sandwich, divided into six triangles from the samosa press' hot plate pattern.

Overwhelmingly, their fellow Aussies were impressed with their ingenuity.
"More crunchy corners. This is a winner," one Reddit user wrote.

"This is the level of multiculturalism Australia needs," another wrote.
"Ideally the contents would be a halal snack pack and the bread from your local Vietnamese bakery."
One simply said: "Sangmosa".

We saw how it looked, but as for how it tasted, u/sinz84 reported: "It was softer than expected and pulled apart easily and stayed together."
They then got hungry and made another, reporting back: "Same filling but extra and cooked longer, didn't pull apart as well but still held together."
"Trying baked beans tonight and will report back if you wish," they concluded.
