'Everyone tells me my drink concoctions are disgusting, but you need to try it – you'll never go back'
A lot of you out there enjoy some unhinged combinations when it comes to food, with Aussie chef Marion Grasby recently admitting to putting smoked cheddar cheese on a Thai red curry.
But what about when it comes to drinks?
My palate is as basic as they come, so I've never had a problem with mixing unconventional items to create something new. Many may think the results are gross, but they're actually so delicious I am branding myself a mixing genius.

Wine with a pistachio rim – don't mock it til you try it. Supplied
Last night I crafted the ultimate 'cocktail', I'll call it – a glass of rosé in a tall prosecco flute, with the rim of the glass glazed in pistachio spread.
What is better than combining two unbelievably delicious treats into one? Nothing.
The sweetness of the spread combined with the zesty, tartness of the (albeit, cheap) wine created something akin to a dessert wine, and my God it was heavenly.
I posted it on my Instagram page and was bombarded with responses saying it was revolting. "This proves you have terrible taste," one responded, while another said it was the most "hideous thing they'd ever seen".
But honestly, grow up. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
I've done it with honey, with a bit of whipped cream, and honestly it's the vibe you never knew you needed.
I asked some of the 9honey team if they'd ever crafted any genius hacks like the above, and some were brave enough to confess.
"A friend puts jalapenos in her rosé. She says pickled jalapenos have the same appeal as olives but with a bit of heat," Emily said.
"I haven't done it personally but I have tried a drink that was orange juice and Yakult mixed together – I was so sceptical but it tasted like my childhood," Madhurima added.
"I also know a lot of people put true lime powder in their coke for some added flavour and apparently it's really refreshing."

Some Reddit users have said blended banana and Sprite is a winner, while another swears by chocolate and apple juice.

"If you have it in roughly 50/50 proportions, then it tastes like apples dipped in chocolate, and is delicious," they wrote.
Influencer Kayla Jade even infuses her gin with blue cheese before mixing it into a cocktail. It looks gross, but I'm taking all judgement away and now bet it's pretty delicious.
Then of course we have the legend herself Dua Lipa, who swears by blending Diet Coke with a splash of pickle juice and a cup of pickles for some extra crunch.
If it's good enough for Dua, it's good enough for society.

We're living in a world where brave drink concoction creators are shunned into thinking they're doing something wrong, but I'm here to tell you – you're not.
Hopefully you're now inspired to be adventurous and free with your creations.
I look forward to seeing you chug on a hideous drink on your balcony with a smugness that others won't understand until they take a sip.
