A Costco food court favourite has quietly disappeared – and fans are devastated
Costco Australia has quietly removed its fan-favourite Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies from food court menus.
A Costco spokesperson has confirmed to nine.com.au the cookies "are currently out of rotation".
"Costco Australia food court items are often rotated across all warehouses to keep the menu fresh and exciting for our valued members," Stephane Mailhiot, General Merchandise Manager of Fresh Food, said.

"The Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies are currently out of rotation, and could be part of a future rotation."
They did hint at a replacement product, saying Costco customers should "keep an eye out for a new sweet option coming soon".
The Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies sold at the Costco food courts are not the same as the 40% Chocolate Chunk Cookies sold in trays from their bakery departments inside the warehouses.
The cookies at the food court were larger, and served hot, and cost $2.99 each. Eating them was a gooey, delicious experience.

Costco hinted at a replacement treat but didn't share further details. Nine
It was during a recent visit to Costco at Marsden Park that I first discovered the cookies were missing from the food court menu.
My partner Shamus and I walked through the checkout section as usual and headed straight to the food court, where Shamus buys us snacks before we head home.
He called me over when he couldn't find the cookies on the order screen. They simply weren't there.
We both just stood there staring at it for a few seconds before I went to a different screen to investigate further.
I even tried to swipe the screen, thinking the cookies may be on a different page, but quickly learned the food court menus at Costco are not a swipe screen. What's on that first screen is the entire menu.
Shamus later said he didn't know what to do; he still wanted his hotdog, but knowing I wouldn't get my cookie made him feel like he should deprive himself as well.
When we picked up Shamus' hotdog I quickly asked the staffer if they were still selling the cookies and she said they weren't.

Costco is a bit of a trek and sometimes it takes extra effort to get myself there, even though I know it is worth the trip because some of the bulk purchases are excellent value.
When I really don't feel like going, the thought of getting one of the hot chocolate chunk cookies from their food court before heading home gives me that extra bit of motivation.

Details on what may replace the now-discontinued Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies are scarce. Perhaps it will be one of the many sweet treats sold at Costco locations around the world.
In the US, Costco sells a larger range of sundaes including ones made with chocolate ice cream and caramel.
Costco Asia has featured acai bowls, mango, and strawberry smoothies. Locations in the UK and Europe have sold gelato.
And Costco locations in the US and Mexico have sold churros.
